Hey Philadelphians, happy Earth Week! What are you doing to celebrate? Why not check out some of the Earth Day events sponsored by the Philadelphia Science Festival.

Here’s the lowdown:

What: Earth Day at the Academy

When: April 22, 10:00 a. m. at Academy of Natural Sciences

Details: Get your science on and explore the world of water pollution, climate change and more. The Academy of Natural Sciences hosts Earth Day at the Academy. This is an ideal event for the whole family. Chemists, engineers and other scientists and experts will be there with their equipment including fish tanks and watershed models to provide a hands on demonstration. Free with museum admission. What: Spring Fling: Party With Your Planet

When: April 22, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at The Philadelphia Zoo

Details: The Spring Fling: Party with Your Planet event is sure to be a good time complete with music and games. If you love animals this is an ideal event for you. The Phildelphia Zoo staff and local environmentalists will show you how you can help animals by taking care of the planet!

What: National Constitution Center Earth Day Event

When: April 22, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the National Constitution Center

Details: The National Consitution Center’s earth day event will inform and educate attendees on important issues like eating locally, preserving park systems, testing homes for lead-based paints and more! Also on the agenda : “We’ll take a look at some unlikely democracies in the Animal Kingdom and learn what the environment can teach us about government!”
