Introducing our Summer Interns

Sorry Lana, but no summertime sadness here.

We’re really excited to introduce our summer interns. You’ll be seeing their faces and reading the amazing posts they have in store for you.

Summer 2014 interns

Let’s introduce them…

Catharine Gaylord

My name’s Catharine and I’m from Damascus, Maryland, right outside DC. This upcoming Fall I’ll be a Junior at Saint Joe’s, studying Marketing and Finance. I also have a minor in Leadership, Ethics, and Organizational Sustainability.

I probably first started getting into sustainability in Elementary School when my mother went on a recycling binge and forced the whole family to learn about how to properly recycle. She would yell at us all if we contaminated her recycling system. At this rate, I’ll probably be something like that when I grow up too.
Aside from being a student, I am also a Resident Assistant for Freshmen at Saint Joe’s and a barista at Starbucks, both of which I absolutely love. In my spare time I love to go for runs, read Game of Thrones, and watch Hockey.

Linh Kostiuk

Linh-Kostiuk

I am currently a senior at studying Architectural Technologies at Philadelphia University. ?I’ve spent the past semester studying Sustainability in Copenhagen, Denmark. My experiences both at home and abroad have inspired me to take a closer look at my personal impact on the environment, one I am continuously working to improve.

There are so many small and simple ways to lessen our effect on the Earth from remembering to recycle to supporting local farmers markets. Together those small steps can add up to a greater positive change.

Grace Rieck

Grace Rieck

My name is Grace and I’m from Rochester, New York. I grew up wearing reusable cloth diapers and eating co-op vegetables. As such, I have always been conscious of humanity’s impact on the environment. Green living is a wonderful way to keep myself, and nature, healthy.

I am currently a Junior studying Communications at Saint Joseph’s University. I hope to use my degree as a way to support and advocate my ethical principles, including the environment, in the ‘real world’.

I’m sure you’ll say hi and make them feel welcome. 🙂
