Where Can I (Wednesday)… Recycle Grass?
Mooooooooooooooooo.
Nope, you’re not seeing things. (Although many of us “Urban folk” are asking ‘What’s grass?!?’)
In most suburban yards (and a few lucky urban), many homeowners maintain a nicely groomed lawn. While many lawnmowers have a handy grass catcher to keep yards ‘clean’, avoid disposing grass in your trash (and clogging up landfills, especially in unnecessary plastic trash bags). Instead, reuse grass as a natural fertilizer and keep it right on your lawn. You’ll return valuable nutrients & moisture to the soil.
Or, feel free to use the grass catcher and compost the grass clippings. You still want the grass to dry out and stir the clippings every few days (like a kitchen compost) to turn it into fertilizer. For more details, check out Home Composting Made Easy.
