Green Philly stands behind the Black Lives Matter movement.
As a sustainability-focused organization serving a majority black city, we understand how imperative it is to stand in opposition to injustice as it pertains to both the environment and race. Fighting inequality and oppression is inherent to our mission here.
Although blatant injustice surrounding police brutality and black lives in the U.S is far from new to us, we must stay relentless in our response. Here are some ways you can join us virtually in supporting the movement.

Here you can email Philadelphia councilmen to prevent a budget increase of $14 million to the police, which would require budget cuts to homelessness, public health dept., and parks and recreation, etc.
Where to donate
Mutual aid funds embody the essence of sustainability, allowing communities to support each other financially with no outside reliance. Here are a few Philly based organization you can donate to help make our communities stronger from within: Mutual Aid Philly and Neighbors Helping Neighbors who both specialize in serving disadvantaged people of color throughout Philadelphia.
Over the last few days of protest in the city, there have been hundreds of instances of arrests, the Philadelphia Community Bail Fund is one way we can provide immediate relief to the protestors affected.
