How often do you get the opportunity to meet and mingle with some of the most influential designers, architects, engineers, developers and sustainable businesses responsible for the changing landscape of a more sustainably built Philadelphia?

This Thursday, October 29th, at Union Trust in Center City, the Delaware Valley Green Building Council will host hundreds of those individuals and friends while enjoying an open bar cocktail reception with live jazz music and hors d’oeuvres at one of the most elegant ballrooms in town.

This is an excellent networking opportunity not just for green building professionals, but for anyone interested in learning about how the sustainability advocates in this region are making great strides in cutting carbon emissions by greening our buildings. Buildings are responsible for 60 percent of all carbon emissions in the United States, and every day DVGBC works toward our vision of a healthier, more resilient built environment for all, as outlined in their strategic plan.

As DVGBC Executive Director Alex Dews mentioned,

“DVGBC is thrilled to host a celebration of exceptional projects in our region that have made a deep commitment to sustainable design and building practices. The work of the finalist project teams demonstrates a balanced approach to buildings that are healthy, efficient, and have a positive impact on our communities.”

Three green building project finalists will be honored with Groundbreaker Awards at the event, and you will have the opportunity to take a closer look at the ways in which these projects are transforming the environment and inspiring sustainable change in the Greater Philadelphia area.
