Philadelphia Water is giving away 12000 FREE reusable water bottles this weekend

Our buds & guest columnists over at Philadelphia Water announced a huge giveaway this weekend.

Recently, I was chatting with friends about how insane bottled water is getting. We chatted about refusing bottled water when GPB when the website was an infant, yet the battle with bottled water continues.

Philadelphia Water knows that the struggle is real too. They just announced that a new network of water bottle filling stations (kiosks) will accompany the popular VIP Schuylkill River Trail, from Kelly Drive from East Falls to Boathouse Row. The efforts strive to reduce bottled water use AND decrease litter, too.

ALL STAR STAT: According to the press release, “combined, Philadelphia Water’s drinking water plants can provide 546 million gallons of clean tap water daily at a cost of just about seven-tenths of cent ($0.007) per gallon, while the average gallon of bottled water costs $1.22, more than 174 times as much.”

Seriously, that math tho….

To celebrate  the announcement this weekend, Philadelphia Water & Head of the Schuylkill Regatta (HOSR) are giving away more than 12,000 FREE high-quality, BPA-free reusable water bottles during the Oct. 24 &25 race, which attracts 8,000 athletes and 30  40K spectators to the Schuylkill River each fall.
