The Wonders of Combining Baking Soda and Vinegar

With all the different products aimed to make our life “easier,” there are many hidden ingredients and toxins in our daily lives.

However, there are natural alternatives can be when used for the same purpose that is just as effective! A combination of baking soda and vinegar, for example, can work wonders for many things in your house. Use this excellent mixture of vinegar and baking soda.

6 Ways to Use Baking Soda and Vinegar at home

1.    Using Vinegar and Baking Soda For Cleaning Purposes

Tired of cleaning stubborn stains and marks off your furniture and appliances? Here’s your all-natural answer. A mixture of vinegar and baking soda can do wonders for your cleaning needs. This combination can be used in many ways to fight against severe stains, so you do not need to run out to the grocery store to buy a solution filled with chemicals anymore. You can quickly make a mixture of these ingredients at home and enjoy a sparkling house.

Baking Soda and Vinegar mixtures can be used to shine all your stainless steel items in the house. You can also use this mix to wipe out any stains that might be ruining your carpet’s look.

2.    Unclog Drains For Easy Cleaning

The mixture of baking soda and vinegar is also used as a perfect solution to clogged drains. A clogged drain can be a recurring and frustrating problem. The caustic drain cleaners that we use to unclog them contain sodium hydroxide or sulfuric acid. Although these solutions efficiently work, they are considered to be intensely hazardous to the environment.

The mixture of baking soda and vinegar gives a different all-natural substitute to these dangerous drain cleaners. After pouring boiled water, just pour this mixture down the drain and let it stay for about five to ten minutes. Then add boiled water again (add salt for a better cleanse, pro tip from reader and SustainPHL 2017 recipient Russell Zerbo) to see the wonders of baking soda and vinegar.

Using this mixture to clean your bathroom can result in astonishing results.

In the final laundry rinse, add 1/2 cup of white vinegar to dissolve any residues and get brighter colors.

Shampoos often contain a significant amount of harmful chemicals such as Parabens, Laureth Sulfate and Sodium Lauryl that can cause serious diseases like cancer. To avoid using these substances, you can add baking soda and vinegar rinse to your daily routine.
