Philadelphia Sustainability Degrees: Translate a Minor into Money

As a marketing major at Temple, I’ve struggled with how to bring “green” into my four short years at the Fox School. Although I know how to take the derivative of an equation, balance the debits and credits in my accounting homework, and create a fierce advertisement, something still felt like something was missing. I have a confession to make. Deep breath. Here it goes. When I was a small kid,  I used to trap insects in a bug catcher. PWD Releases Green Streets Design Manual

The Philadelphia Water Department (PWD) established its Green Cities, Clean Waters Plan as an innovative, greener approach to stormwater management. Rather than tear apart and rebuild old sewage drains, the Green Cities, Clean Waters plan encourages innovative, sustainable solutions like porous pavements, creative foliage layouts and street bump-outs. The 25-year plan has just begun. The PWD recently released the City of Philadelphia's Green Streets Design Manual, to move forward with the process.
