Gemelli Gelato: Local & Authentic from Vincenzo Tettamanti

Who's ready for authentic, local and delicious gelato? We're ecstatic for Gemelli Gelato Desserts & Cafe to soon open up in West Chester! This upcoming Gelateria pledges to bring you homemade, wholesome, local and organic ingredients for a superior dessert experience. Fresh milk, cream & yogurt are sourced from local Lancaster farms; produce, jams, cheeses & honey are via your local farmers, too. Just check out their full list of ingredients. Don't expect flashy, fake colors either. Mint and green apple gelatos come in whites. Vincenzo & Julianne Tettamanti are the masterminds behind the simple, fresh dessert that will soon takeover West Chester. I've known the Italian entrepreneur, Vincenzo, from a previous marketing life and have happily discussed his progress for months. Recently, I sat down with Vincenzo to find out more about his inspiration behind Gemelli, what we can expect and how he's sourcing ingredients.

4 Reasons Why Reading Terminal Market Rocks!

Reading Terminal Market is the place to be. Ever since I’ve moved to Philly, I try to hit up my obsession, Reading Terminal, as often as possible. Attracting an average of 120,000 visitors per week, this fantastic market is not only filled with a plethora of local food options, but in an accessible location. It became more formal in 1693 and had a pretty good run until 1971 when Reading Company declared bankruptcy. Luckily, the revival of the market sparked during investments for seasonal foods and impromptu piano concerts in the 1980s into what we currently enjoy today. Need any more reasons to hit up this Philly favorite?

Picture this: You're taking a drive and hunger hits in in a major way. You realize you haven't packed your organic snacks (the horror!) and you cannot wait to eat. Although your hunger must be satisfied immediately, you don't have time for a sit-down meal. Panic sets in when you consider the limited, quick options... a plethora of greasy burgers, fries, MSG-filled fried chicken and soggy sandwiches. This was my predicament last weekend. Traveling from the Philadelphia Airport to the West Chester suburbs with friends, destiny collided when we stumbled upon Farmer's Road in Chadds Ford. The rustic sign advertising 'fresh fast food" beckoned to us and we pulled right in. Find out more about Farmer's Road, after the jump.
