Registration Required. One of the many benefits of having plants in our homes is their ability to improve our air quality. Gardening season is wrapping up and we’ll all be spending more time indoors, it’s a great time to learn more about your houseplants, which ones are “air cleaners” and what that really means.
Staff instructor Donna will identify and discuss the 29 houseplants NASA lists as indoor air cleaning and the toxins they trap, where they are found, as well as the plants that are toxic to pets. We’ll learn about Phytoremediation (how plants actually improve your air quality), plant care and maintenance, as well as propagation so you can grow more plants!
Everyone will get a small air cleaning plant to take home with a handout covering care. We’ll have lots of healthy plants in stock too.
Donna Zagrapan is a Horticulture Specialist, was a Penn State Master Gardener for 20 years and has an Ornamental Horticulture certification from Longwood Gardens.
PLEASE NOTE: Cancellations within 72 hours of the start of class are nonrefundable or transferable. Workshop refunds and transfers requested earlier than 72 hours before the class start time will be charged a $5.00 processing fee.
