A Conversation with Mel Chin

November 7, 2016 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Mel Chin is internationally regarded as the political consciousness of the art world.  For over forty years, the context of his work – ranging from toxic landfills to primetime television – is consistently rooted in provoking social awareness and civic responsibility.  As such, Chin will deliver the keynote for Visualizing Sustainability, addressing his illustrious career while focusing on his most recent projects such as Revival Field and Operation Paydirt/Fundred Dollar Bill Project, which helps make New Orleans a lead-safe city.

This event is part of the Seeing Stories: Visualizing Sustainable Citizenship Series. Seeing Stories: Visualizing Sustainable Citizenship is co-curated by Temple Contemporary, Temple University’s Office of Sustainability, and Temple University Libraries, along with faculty from the Tyler School of Art, the College of Liberal Arts, and the Center for the Cinematic and Performing Arts.
