After you take down your Christmas tree, don’t trash it. If you leave it to the curb, it ends up in a landfill (adn take virtually forever to decompose.)
Instead, recycle and compost that tree!
First, prepare it for composting. Remove all decor: metal bases, lights, and ornaments.
At a sanitation convenience center.
The program will run for two weeks from Monday, January 6, 2020 through Saturday, January 18, 2020. Residents may drop off their trees for recycling starting Monday, January 6th at any of the following Streets Department Sanitation Convenience Centers Monday through Saturday from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm:
Free Christmas tree drop-off is offered city-wide on Saturday, January 11, 2020, and January 18, 2020, from 9 am to 3 pm at any of the below 13 drop-off locations:
