It’s that time of the year: to take down the decorations and recycle your Christmas Tree!
Here’s a list of locations where you can treecycle – thus reducing space in landfills and giving your tree a new life.
Need to get rid of your tree ASAP? The Streets Department Sanitation Convenience Centers accept trees Monday through Saturdays, 8 AM – 6 PM. They’re slightly further out of the way from Center City but have flexible hours.
Take your tree to a neighborhood near you on upcoming Saturdays.
When: Sat. January 9, 2016
When: Sun. January 10, 2016
Suggested donations: $5/tree; $3/wreath
The City of Philadelphia also has a free drop-off programs 2 Saturdays this year: Saturday, January 9, 2016 and January 16, 2016. You must drop off your tree from 9 am – 3 pm.
Awesome business alert: Zipcar is offering to pick up a few lucky customer’s trees (fo’ free!) this Saturday, too! Signup here.
