Like many, I’ve never seen a Philadelphia team win a championship. Luckily, I didn’t pay much attention when I was younger. But as I’ve grown older, I’ve had my heart broken during playoffs and championship series for the Eagles, Flyers, Sixers, and Phillies. I watched the 2005 SuperBowl in a London flat, with a TV we purchased from a pawn shop for a mere 24 hours, wearing my pink eagles hat and hoping the Eagles would break the Wiliam Penn Curse. But Billy Penn was still pissed and wouldn’t let us taste victory yet. Last year, I caught onto the Phillies Phever when we made the playoffs. But, we came up short yet again.

Heartbreaks include Lidge believing we’d win the game if it was called after 5 1/2 innings, children asking their parents if they can be woken up if the Phillies game comes back on at 1 AM, our best pitcher not being able to finish up his game…
Regardless, let’s hope the Phils are riled up (I’m sure the fans will be) whenever the game resumes (scheduled for Wednesday night at 8:37 p.m. as of now) and we
