DVGBC Honors Awesometown as Sustainable Homes for Low Income Buyers

Sustainable homes should be available to families of all income levels. Due to a unique partnership between Postgreen Homes and the New Kensington Community Development Corporation (NKCDC), it’s one of the first projects of its kind in Philadelphia. LEED Platinum houses on the 400 Block of Thompson St are the forefront of green housing, the project also uses passive house design principles.

Appropriately named Awesometown (I’d buy a house there just to say I was awesome ALLLLL the time), NKCDC is providing financial assistance to 4 low-income buyers to ensure Awesometown is accessible.

Awesometown is one of 6 Project Finalists honored by DVGBC its upcoming annual Groundbreaker awards on 9/29.
