Quick Tip: Green Your Refrigerator

Did you know that Refrigerators account for roughly half of a typical kitchen’s total energy usage? The good news is a good portion of that energy can be reduced with a few quick changes including:

  • Keeping the temperature between 35 and 38 degrees.
  • Setting hot appliances at a distance from the fridge. I recently moved my toaster oven to the other side of the kitchen. So simple.
  • Checking the door to make sure no air is escaping.

If you’re in need of a new fridge a brand with the Energy Star logo is your best bet.
